Amitabh Bachchan donates Rs 2.5 lakhs to Delhi Constable

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has donated Rs 2.5 lakhs to the family of Subhash Chand Tomar, the Delhi Police constable, who passed away after being badly beaten up during the protests against the gang rape of a 23 year old girl.

Been to many Award functions in 40 years of my professional career, but never one so graceful, dignified and filled with purity! Among the many other blessings and citations they gave a cash Award of Rs 250,000″
He later added that he donated the cash award to the late Police constable’s family “Many do not know that a police constable was critically injured in the protests that turned violent day before.. he succumbed! Constable carrying out orders in the line of duty.. was only earning member of his large family..! I have donated my cash Award money to his family!! They are distraught and of lesser means.. prayers!”
